Description

Many writers dream of seeing their work published in newspapers and magazines, but are unsure how to achieve their goal. Plus, there is the dreaded fear of those rejection letters. Learn the tips of the trade from Laura Sturza – who has received hundreds of rejection letters and lived to tell – and published her work. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to prepare work for publication, research prospective magazines and newspapers, write a compelling pitch, learn best practices for keeping track of submissions, and celebrate the successes and heartaches that come with the process.

Short Biography of Laura Sturza

Laura Sturza is a writer/teacher living in Rockville. Her work is published in The Washington Post, Shondaland, The Boston Globe, AARP’s The Girlfriend, The LA Times, Hippocampus, and Lunch Ticket, among others. Laura is completing the memoir, “Better Late: My Midlife First-Time Marriage.” She was a nonfiction editor of “Transformation: A Women Who Submit Anthology.” She wrote, produced, and starred in the one-woman show, “Finding the Perfect Place to Live in 111 Gyrations.” She teaches memoir writing, primarily to older adults, and is inspired by their bravery and talent.
