Description
Modeled after poems in “Wild Washington,” an illustrated poetry book about animal sculptures in Washington, D.C., and led by poet and artist Nancy Arbuthnot, this workshop will review haiku techniques to create animal cards (illustrations optional) with a haiku about a favorite pet, wild animal or animal sculpture.

Nancy Arbuthnot
Poet and artist Nancy Arbuthnot is a former poet-in-education in Maryland and poetry professor at the U.S. Naval Academy. She currently enjoys leading writing workshops for both adults and older children. This year marks the 20th anniversary of her popular book “Wild Washington: Animal Sculpture A to Z,” illustrated by Cathy Abramson.
