We carry our breaks instead of pretending we were never dropped
Humanity always lives in contradiction; our impulses are different from our intuition.
We are split creatures.
Making medicine with the same hands we make weapons;
the hand that knows to heal eventually learns how to harm.
Knowledge itself is neutral, but intention is never.
We out-do ourselves with every passing second
with cures that save millions and formulas that become a bomb
Our actions always have shadows because progress is never innocent,
and in the shade of those shadows only a few fortunate sit.
Our conscience is our weakness:
We crave connection but it is impossible for us to be united.
To pretend we are,
we choose controlled openness.
Selective honesty.
Love with an escape route.
Loneliness becomes safer than rejection
Distance feels like protection
And we want to be held, but with our armor on.
We want to be remembered, but are afraid of being seen.
To freeze ourselves at our best, most polished times,
we hide ourselves now
chasing legacy while hiding our reality.
Yet maybe, humanity is not the absence of contradiction, but the willingness to confront it.
We are unfinished by nature.
We are not burdened with ego, jealousy, ignorance, foolishness or hatred
Maybe we have such negative qualities for a reason
To realize we are also able to reach for something better than what we are.
–even when we fall short of it.
Growth does not erase our flaws and improvement does not mean purity,
But through it we can question ourselves so much that
we soften, resist harm, and maybe knowing we fail– try again.
We will always be imperfect.
Because perfection requires certainty
And humanity lives in doubt.
But as long as we continue to reach and reflect,
We remain human.
