This collection of original poetry explores the griefs and joys of motherhood and daughterhood as the poet navigates her mother’s death and the challenge of raising children in a broken world.

The collection received multiple honors before publication, including finalist in the Jessie Bryce Niles chapbook competition and finalist in the Headlight Review chapbook contest.

About Patricia Davis-Muffett

Patricia Davis-Muffett (she/her) holds an MFA from the University of Minnesota. Her chapbook, “alchemy of yeast and tears,” was published by Kelsay Books in March. Her work has won honors including Best of the Net 2022 nomination, inclusion in Best New Poets 2022 and second place (selected by Marge Piercy) in the 2022 Joe Gouveia Outermost Poetry Contest. Her work appears in Atlanta Review, Whale Road Review, Calyx and About Place, among others. She lives in Rockville, Md., with her family and makes her living in technology marketing.
